Labor Day 2011

The Carnival festival time is here again in Brooklyn  as we celebrate Labor Day. Creatively designed costumes of vibrant colors emphasize the jubilant culture of the West Indies as bands of different Caribbean cultures march through the streets. If you’re in NY, come down to Brooklyn on Eastern Parkway to enjoy the festivities of loud Caribbean music, delectable food, and non-stopping dancing. Rep your culture as Trinidadians, Jamaicans, Haitians,  Bajans (I’m a proud Bajan descendant. =)), Guyanese and more whine through the streets. Of course, if you can’t stand crowds it’s always best to stay home.  Still, this joyous dancing party is the ultimate way to end the summer. “Everybody, take a jump, take a jump, take a jump up now. Start to wave start to wave start to wave up now. Start to whine, start  to whine start to whine up now because …It’s Carnival.”
