Mentored under the musical wings of Teddy Pendergrass, Corey Latif Williams is an artist not to ignore. With his charming writing skills, he’s written music for the likes of Musiq Soulchild, Chris Brown, Faith Evans, The Roots, Cassie, Cheri Dennis, Jojo, Lil Scrappy, Frankie J and Jim Jones. Yet, this grammy nominated songwriter who was once a part of Universal Motown barely scratches the radar of the billboard charts and I’m left wondering why. His underground talent has a steady fan base, but has yet to have a main stream presence well-known to the masses. Latif continues to push hard as he’s had two albums come out last year (Breath of Fresh Air mixtape and Love is Love ) and another two albums (LATIF – The Leaks – H.U.R.L. & Love Songs Vol. 1 mixtape and Love Life (only in Japan)) released this year. His sweet and genuine lyrics can definitely pull heartstrings. Latif’s track “One Kiss” has a smooth energetic flow worthy to magnetize the heart of any lucky girl. With tracks like this, his potential can only become greater with his passion and drive for the art form.
